With a wealth of experience in pediatric care, you can rely on The Lakes Home Care to care for your medically complex child.
Compassionate Care for Your Child

When your child’s health is at risk, we’re here to provide the support you need. Our team of nurses, therapists, and home health aides offer comprehensive care in the comfort of your home. We collaborate with your family and healthcare providers to create personalized care plans that best suit your child’s needs.

Pediatric Private Duty Nursing (PDN) & Skilled Nursing
Private duty nursing (PDN) allows your medically fragile child to receive professional, skilled care at home, a setting that is often preferred by both patients and their families. PDN is typically used for long-term care, providing individualized medical attention and support with daily activities. Studies show that PDN is more cost-effective than staying in a facility, sometimes costing up to 50% less than a hospital stay. PDN is covered by most insurance plans, including Medicaid, or families may choose to pay with private funds.
For pediatric patients requiring care for a shorter duration, we also offer intermittent skilled nursing services. These visits are generally shorter than PDN sessions and focus primarily on medical needs rather than daily activities.
Value-Based Skilled Care

All of our registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) are thoroughly screened and credentialed, with extensive experience in caring for pediatric patients with a variety of medical conditions. Our team is dedicated to helping manage complex medical needs in the home.
Our services include:
- Ventilator and tracheostomy care
- G-tube care and management
- Diabetes management
- Seizure management
- Oxygen management
- TPN infusion
- Administering medications and therapies
Additionally, our nurses will report any changes in your child’s condition to the office and physicians, reinforce hospital instructions, promote home-based education, manage medical equipment and supplies, and assist with appointments. They also help with personal care and meal preparation.
24/7 Care
With numerous office locations across the country, we ensure that our patients and their families have access to on-call support whenever needed, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays.
In-Home Therapy
When your child needs rehabilitation, our therapists provide customized therapy programs to meet their unique needs. Our team is trained to assist patients with neurological, orthopedic, post-surgical, and developmental diagnoses, and we adjust our services as your child’s needs evolve.
Therapy Services at The Lakes Home Care
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy aims to maintain, enhance, or restore movement and physical function impacted by illness, injury, or disability. Our therapists create personalized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and coordination. We focus on boosting your child’s well-being using physical activities, modalities, and assistive devices.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy helps pediatric patients prevent injury, illness, or disability by focusing on daily living activities. Our therapists work to improve your child’s abilities through adapted activities, sensory integration, and exercises to strengthen balance, coordination, and overall skills.
Speech Therapy
Speech-language therapy addresses physical and cognitive disorders that affect communication or swallowing. Our speech-language pathologists work with children to enhance their speech and language abilities. Treatment programs may include comprehension training, social skills development, alternative communication devices, and techniques for safe swallowing.
Respiratory Therapy
We provide personalized, high-quality respiratory and cardiopulmonary care to patients in their homes. Our skilled Respiratory Therapists assess, treat, and manage conditions like asthma, COPD, pneumonia, and sleep apnea, collaborating with physicians to create customized care plans. Services include oxygen therapy, pulmonary testing, and ventilator management, with a focus on patient education. Our RTs are also trained for emergency interventions in cases of respiratory failure, ensuring compassionate and professional care that improves patients’ quality of life.
